Your Cardio Workout Exercises - Are They Effective Fat Burners?

 I am sure we have all wondered if cardio workout exercise is effective and if it is which is the best routine.

Tips to Stick To Your Diet


It has happened to all of us at some point or another: we were doing so well with our weight loss diet or exercise regime. Then suddenly we fell off the horse and decided that if we had already gone this far we might as well give up entirely.

There's an old Chinese tale about a father and his son who lived on a farm. Together they raised sheep and cared for them. They lived off of these sheep and were able to make money from the sheep's fur. Every day both the father and the son walked around the field where they were raising the sheep to check that the fence was in good order. One night, the fence broke and some wolves sneaked into the field and ate some of the sheep.

The son cried out to his father saying that all was lost and that they were now ruined! But the father simply picked up his tools and took his son to the fence to patch it up. Once the fence had been fixed, the father told his son that just because there was a weakness in the fence it does not mean that it cannot be fixed nor that it is impossible for them to keep raising sheep.

Your diet or exercise regime is like sheep, it is always at risk of violated or destroyed. The fence represents your will power and your circumstances. It might happen that you're too busy to go to the gym or go jogging every morning for a period of time. It might happen that you were forced to stop at a fast food joint on the side of the high way. It might happen that you cave in to eating some chips, some chocolate, or any one of your other cravings. But that doesn't mean you should give up and let your sheep continue to be eaten by wolves. After you've stuffed yourself with what you know to be unhealthy food: stop and think about it. It's not the end of the world.

Yoga Moves For A Fat Burning Workout

Yoga is often praised in the mass media as the new fitness-craze promising weight loss, and increased strength and flexibility. These exercises are a combination of Yoga Poses, Breathing Exercises, Sun Bathing and Prayer. 1. Stand straight with the palms together as in a prayer position.

2. Inhale and stretch the arms above the head.

3. Exhale and bend forward while touching the toes.

4. Inhale and stretch the right leg away from the body in a big backward step and keep the hands and left foot firmly on the ground. Bending the head backward the left knee should be between the hands.

5. Inhale and hold the breath. Move the left leg from the body and, keeping both feet together and the knees of the floor, rest on the hands (arms straight) and keep the body in a straight line from head to foot.

6. Exhale and lower the body to the floor. In this position, only 8 portions of the body come in contact with the floor: the two feet, two knees, two hands, chest and forehead.

7. Inhale and bend back as much as possible bending the spine to the maximum.

8. Exhale and lift the body of the floor. Keep the feet and heels on the floor.

9. Inhale and bring the right foot along the level of the hands; left foot and knee should touch the ground. Look up, bending the spine slightly (same position as #4)

10. Exhale and bring the left leg forward. Keep the knees straight and bring the head down to the knees as in the third position.

11. Raise arms overhead and bend backward inhaling. As in Position 2.

12. Exhale and drop the arms and relax.

You have now completed one round. Perform as many rounds as possible in multiples of 3. Ideally you want to aim for 6 rounds minimum and up to a maximum of 30. It only takes about 5-10 minutes, depending on your speed and intensity and is best practiced with as little clothing as possible before an open air window first thing in the morning.

How Do You Measure Your Fat Loss Progress?

Why Not To Use A Scale

1).Your body will sometimes fluctuate by a few pounds daily.  This does not mean that you have gained weight or burned fat.  If the scale is the tool you are using to measure in this instance you will get an incorrect score.

2). It is a fact that muscles weigh more than fat.  By adding lean muscle to your body your weight increases.  Assuming you are not gaining fat weight, this is a good thing.  Always keep in mind it is not about weight loss but fat loss.  Can you see why using a scale will give you the wrong results?

Thanksgiving Dinner Without Pounds

Thanksgiving does not have to come with extra pounds.  You do not have to torture and or deprive yourself or sacrifice your taste by watching what you eat to enjoy a sumptuous Thanksgiving meal.  It is true that this holiday dinner contains a large amount of calories.  Just keep this thought in the back of your head.  “One day of fasting will not make you lose a lot of weight, so one night of a little indulgence will not ruin your long term weight loss efforts”So go ahead!  Eat as much as you want of whatever you want.  No need to eat yourself sick, of course.  Oh!  Do not worry -you will not set your weight loss goals back.

Maintaining your weight during the holiday season is probably more practical than trying to lose some extra pounds.  Your body's fat burning hormones are highest after a big meal.  In fact, gorging yourself once in a while, as long as it is done in MODERATION can actually speed up your metabolism for several days.  So just dig in and enjoy!   The responsible thing to do for the next day or two after the holiday is just continue focusing on whatever fat burning program that you have implemented in your routine and you will be fine.                                                                                                                                   
 Leave The Pounds On Your Plate

Portion control is one of the most important components in maintaining your weight during the holidays. You will also reap the added benefits of feeling fuller while getting your body flushed of toxins.

Food Choices 

Start off with a small bowl of soup before the main course.  This will help to stimulate the digestive juices.  Just check to make sure that it is not fatty. 
Next have a big serving of salad.  Do not skimp here.  Eating lots of vegetables before the main course will help you curb the amount of food you will intake.  If you must have  salad dressing use low calorie preferably one that is vinegar based. 

Here comes the main course.  Have loads of turkey without the skin.  Enjoy a sample of everything, but  just do it in moderation.  By the way skip the gravy remember your ultimate goal is to lose the fat.  

Desert anyone?  You can say yes.  Choose a very small piece of cake or pie but eat slowly so you can savor the taste.

Continue To “Say No!” To Diets That Burn Fat- Part 2


In part one of this article, I discussed how avoiding a fad diet is one of the best things you can do for your long term health and fitness success, especially if you want to burn fat.  In this part, you will see how you can start to transition from your current lifestyle to one that translates into creating a lean, strong body and long lasting health.

A healthy balance of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats in your diet is essential to keep your metabolism firing on all cylinders and constantly burning fat.  Complex Carbs (whole grains, breads, cereals, etc.) are vital to maintaining your energy level throughout the day and do a host of other things within your body including keeping you feeling full.  Fruits because of their high fiber content and slow absorption into the blood stream keep our insulin level in check.  This is important for less fat storage and an increased chance of burning stored fat.

Simple carbs or sugars (candy, soda pop, white processed baked goods, etc) are to be avoided like the plague and kept to a minimum.  These foods provide little nutritional value.  In fact, insulin which regulates the blood sugar level will take the excess sugar and store it as fat.  The best way to avoid this is by eating sensible amounts of complex carbohydrates instead.

Proteins (lean meats, fish, poultry, soy, beans and legumes, etc.) are the building blocks of the body.  They are essential for building lean muscles important to maintaining the cellular structures and vital if you want to burn fat fast .                                  
When choosing your protein source include a balance of animal and plant based protein. Plant based proteins contain more fiber essential in your ability to burn fat.  Include properly performed resistance exercises from the Fat Burning Furnace to burn fat and to foster lean muscle growth.

All fad diets have one thing in common.  They’re diets.  They cannot weather the storm and after a couple a years they are gone.  When the fitness professionals think we are ready to eat them up again….no pun intended… they return riding a new wave.  If you are serious about burning fat, you really should avoid these things like the plague.
Realistically many of these diets will provide some initial weight loss and fat loss but you could also lose some muscles.  Losing muscles can spell disaster to your fat burning effort however that is not the biggest problem.  The biggest problem with these diets is that most people who follow outlandish diets gain back the fat they have lost, and then some! 

The Reasons Most Diets Fail

Too much focus is placed on one type of food, which can lead to unhealthy eating habits.
Diets are no fun and too strict to be realistically followed.  Any diet that cannot be followed as a lifestyle will not burn fat in the long run.
